SelfieSign Moving Towards the South East Asian Market: Stepping Foot in Malaysia

Kuala Lumpur, Oct. 6-8. SelfieSign, the world’s first video-based eSignature platform has just successfully concluded its 3 days visit to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, with the agenda of holding the ThinkCloud Technology Financial Seminar on the first day, joining the Smart Hospital Summit 2022 held by The Affiliated Hospital of China Medical University on the second day, and setting up an interactive booth in a dinner hosted by Taipei’s Inventors Association in Malaysia in accordance to celebrating Taiwan’s national day on the last day.


This visit’s objective is to step foot into the financial and medical industry and explore possibilities and opportunities that can be brought forward by this revolutionary electronic signature solution in Malaysia. Malaysia sits within a very robust SEA ecosystem, with the digital economy set to be worth US$35 billion by 2025. With this rapid digitalization of the country, the need for a strong and highly secure electronic signature is paramount.


SelfieSign with its unique patented format, Selfie Video Signature (SVS) file that has a video recording of the signing process embedded in the document as undeniable proof of willingness, is keen on becoming the solution of choice, providing the highest level of contract validity and enforceability.

On Thursday, October 6, SelfieSign held a financial seminar in Kuala Lumpur, with the objective of showcasing SelfieSign and its integrated services implementation in the financial industry, attended by professionals in its field, representatives from Cathay United Bank, CTBC Bank, Bangkok Bank, Mega Bank, The Bank of East Asia, Fubon Insurance, UOB, and many more.

As many of the workflow processes have been digitalized in the financial sector, such as account opening in banks and insurance document processing, trust in digital identity has to be reinforced. ThinkCloud Technology, the parent company of SelfieSign, has created 2 other products apart from SelfieSign, to become the one-stop solution for providing the safest digitalization tools, which are FaceOTP and iMeeting.


In this seminar, Ms. Aishwarya Gowda A G, marketing manager of ThinkCloud technology showed a live demonstration of FaceOTP. An OTP with 3 layers of security embedded: Facial recognition, OTP itself, and the whole process of OTP input video recording embedded to deter hackers from stealing FaceOTP. With the same concept as SelfieSign, providing video recording as evidence, FaceOTP becomes the solution to deal with OTP security risks.


Another demo of SelfieSign’s integrated product, iMeeting, has caught the audience's interest as it is a suitable solution in the financial sector to eliminate the risk of remote transactions. iMeeting is a solution to remotely streamline the contract confirmation and signing process, allowing the user to record the contract discussion and signing process, and embed the video recording in the document, making the remote signing process safe and efficient.

II. Smart Hospital Summit 2022 held by The Affiliated Hospital of China Medical University

The 12 company representatives of the participants in Smart Hospital Summit 2022 in Kuala Lumpur.


SelfieSign, along with another 11 leading companies specializing in healthcare solutions joined the Smart Hospital Summit 2022 held by The Affiliated Hospital of China Medical University in Kuala Lumpur, Friday, October 7. Together with this event, a cooperation MOU was also signed between the Malaysia Association for Cell Therapy (MACT) and The Affiliated Hospital of China Medical University, to further promote the medical cooperation and industrial development between Taiwan and Malaysia.


The summit showcased a series of high-tech healthcare solutions and attracted experts and scholars from both Taiwan and Malaysia to share their insights on the development of technology in the healthcare industry, attended by professionals in the field of government, education, research, and medicine in Malaysia such as Datuk Dr. Tang Yong Chew, JP, President of Goldstone Holdings Berhad, Dr. Kuan-Cheng Chang, Deputy Superintendent of China Medical University Hospital, Dr. Lim Teck Onn

President of Malaysia Association for Cell Therapy (MACT), Datuk Mohd Rashid bin Hasnon, Malaysia’s Deputy Speaker of Dewan Rakyat, and many more.


In the industry symposium, SelfieSign shared its abundant experience in serving Taiwan’s medical industry. SelfieSign provides not only the highest level of security with the video recording, picture of the signer, location, voice recording, time and location stamp, and hashcode encrypted in the document as a form of Selfie Video Signature (SVS) file but also features tailored made to streamline workflow in the medical industry. Such as the digital consent form library, integration with the hospital system, and many others.

To end the agenda, on Saturday, October 8, SelfieSign set up an interactive booth during Taipei’s Inventors Association in Malaysia’s Taiwan’s National Day Celebration Dinner to further enhance SelfieSign’s product awareness in Malaysia. This casual event gave a chance to SelfieSign to get connected to many professionals from Taiwan who have settled in Malaysia and learned more about the market in Malaysia.
